Application Details

General description

Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the production and function of granulocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is essential for innate immune cell development and is used clinically in immunotherapy. Recombinant Human GM-CSF Protein (Y01501) is expressed from mammalian cells. It contains AA Ala 18 - Glu 144 (Accession # P04141), and is widely used in advanced cell culture, immunology research, and dendritic cell vaccine development.

Application

· Dendritic Cell Differentiation and Maturation — Drives the generation of mature antigen-presenting cells from monocytes.

· Macrophage and Granulocyte Expansion — Supports the proliferation and activation of myeloid lineage cells.

· Cancer Vaccine and Immunotherapy Research — Enhances antigen presentation and T cell priming.

· Alveolar Macrophage Development — Models GM-CSF-dependent lung macrophage differentiation.

· Serum-Free Culture Systems — Suitable for chemically defined and xeno-free cell culture media.

Backgroud

GM-CSF signals through the GM-CSFRα/βc receptor complex, activating JAK2-dependent STAT5, PI3K-AKT, and RAS-MAPK pathways. It is produced by T cells, macrophages, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts in response to inflammatory stimuli. GM-CSF is indispensable for alveolar macrophage development, with genetic deletion causing pulmonary alveolar proteinosis. Clinically, GM-CSF is used to accelerate neutrophil recovery after chemotherapy and as an immune adjuvant in cancer vaccines. In research, it is the standard cytokine for generating dendritic cells from monocytes and for expanding myeloid populations.

Q&A

Q1: What is GM-CSF mainly used for?

GM-CSF is primarily used for dendritic cell differentiation, macrophage expansion, cancer vaccine research, and alveolar macrophage development.

Q2: Is this GM-CSF suitable for serum-free culture systems?

Yes. EastMabBio recombinant GM-CSF is compatible with serum-free, xeno-free, and chemically defined media systems.

Q3: How should recombinant GM-CSF be stored?

Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20°C or below. After reconstitution, aliquot and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Q4: What shipping conditions are used?

Products are shipped on dry ice with validated cold-chain packaging to maintain stability during international transportation.

Q5: Do you provide QC documents?

Yes. COA, MSDS, TSE-BSE statements, endotoxin reports, bioactivity data, and additional QC documentation are available upon request.
