Application Details

General description

Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor is a hematopoietic growth factor essential for monocyte differentiation, macrophage survival, and osteoclast development. It signals through the CSF1R receptor and is critical for tissue-resident macrophage maintenance. Recombinant Human M-CSF Protein (Y06721H) is expressed from E. coli cells. It contains AA Glu 33 - Ser 190 (Accession # P09603.3), and is widely used in advanced cell culture, immunology research, and bone biology.

Application

· Monocyte and Macrophage Differentiation — Drives the maturation of monocytes into tissue macrophages.

· Osteoclast Formation and Bone Remodeling — Supports RANKL-dependent osteoclast differentiation.

· Tissue-Resident Macrophage Culture — Maintains the survival and polarization of microglia and other tissue macrophages.

· Tumor-Associated Macrophage Research — Models TAM differentiation and function in the tumor microenvironment.

· Serum-Free Culture Systems — Suitable for chemically defined and xeno-free cell culture media.

Backgroud

M-CSF, also known as CSF-1, exists as soluble, membrane-bound, and proteoglycan-bound forms generated by alternative splicing. It signals through the CSF1R tyrosine kinase receptor, activating PI3K-AKT, RAS-MAPK, and PLCγ pathways. M-CSF is indispensable for monocyte-macrophage lineage development, with genetic deletion causing severe macrophage deficiency, osteopetrosis, and developmental abnormalities. In cell culture, M-CSF is the standard cytokine for generating macrophages from monocytes, maintaining microglia, and supporting osteoclast differentiation in combination with RANKL.

Q&A

Q1: What is M-CSF mainly used for?

M-CSF is primarily used for monocyte and macrophage differentiation, osteoclast formation, tissue macrophage culture, and tumor-associated macrophage research.

Q2: Is this M-CSF suitable for serum-free culture systems?

Yes. EastMabBio recombinant M-CSF is compatible with serum-free, xeno-free, and chemically defined media systems.

Q3: How should recombinant M-CSF be stored?

Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20°C or below. After reconstitution, aliquot and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Q4: What shipping conditions are used?

Products are shipped on dry ice with validated cold-chain packaging to maintain stability during international transportation.

Q5: Do you provide QC documents?

Yes. COA, MSDS, TSE-BSE statements, endotoxin reports, bioactivity data, and additional QC documentation are available upon request.
