Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF-β1) is a multifunctional cytokine that regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and immune responses. It plays a central role in tissue fibrosis, wound healing, and immune tolerance. Recombinant Human TGF-β1 Protein (Y04201N) is expressed from mammalian cells. It contains AA Ala 279 - Ser 390 (Accession # P01137), and is widely used in advanced cell culture, immunology research, and regenerative medicine applications.
· Regulatory T Cell Induction — Drives the differentiation of naïve CD4+ T cells into induced regulatory T cells (iTregs).
· Mesenchymal Stem Cell Differentiation — Promotes chondrogenic and osteogenic lineage commitment.
· Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) Studies — Induces EMT in cancer and epithelial cell models.
· Fibrosis and Tissue Repair Research — Models pathological fibrosis and wound healing mechanisms.
· Serum-Free Culture Systems — Suitable for chemically defined and xeno-free cell culture media.

Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF-β1), also known as TGFB1 or DPD1, is the founding member of the TGF-β superfamily. TGF-β1 is secreted as a latent complex and becomes biologically active upon proteolytic cleavage and dissociation from its latency-associated peptide (LAP). It signals through heteromeric complexes of TGF-β type I (ALK5) and type II receptors, activating downstream SMAD2/3-dependent transcriptional programs. TGF-β1 is a potent immunosuppressive cytokine that maintains immune homeostasis and self-tolerance while also driving pathological tissue fibrosis in chronic diseases.
Q1: What is TGF-β1 mainly used for? TGF-β1 is primarily used for Treg differentiation, MSC lineage specification, EMT induction, fibrosis modeling, and immune regulation studies.
Q2: Is this TGF-β1 suitable for serum-free culture systems? Yes. EastMabBio recombinant TGF-β1 is compatible with serum-free, xeno-free, and chemically defined media systems.
Q3: How should recombinant TGF-β1 be stored? Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20°C or below. After reconstitution, aliquot and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Q4: What shipping conditions are used? Products are shipped on dry ice with validated cold-chain packaging to maintain stability during international transportation.
Q5: Do you provide QC documents? Yes. COA, MSDS, TSE-BSE statements, endotoxin reports, bioactivity data, and additional QC documentation are available upon request.
